Electronics Resources was the first computer business to be established in Cairns, in August 1982, when a small minority of clients used mainframes and mini computers, and before the IBM PC was introduced here.
In July 1998 the company began using the trading name Computer Resources Cairns, which more fully reflected the business focus. The business changed hands in June 2018 and is now owned by an experienced business technology leader, Robert Jensen.
The premises are now situated on the busiest intersection in Cairns, on the corner of Mulgrave Road and Aumuller Street, in the Plaza 200 complex. These premises house the retail showroom, technical service department, administration, and stores facility.
Computer Resources Cairns continues to focus on consumers, small business and corporate clients, with an emphasis on client satisfaction and value for money for both consumers and businesses in far North Queensland. All main brands of computers are supported and the business is licensed to sell Toshiba, Leader and Dell computers as well as Epson and Kyocera printers.
In addition to the sales and repairs of computers and printers, we also specialize in remote management of client systems for consumers and businesses. Some of our clients operate and live in remote areas and our managed service allows us to resolve many of their problems, without these having to bring their computer/s into Cairns for service.
A long-term relationship with Epson and Toshiba has led to the establishment of authorized service center status for these strategic brands, and provides the level of support which business clients expect. We do repairs for other brands, as well as being the preferred supplier for out of warranty repairs for several corporate and government clients.
At present the company employs five staff with specialist contractors on call as required.
Computer Resources Cairns has a highly trained technical support team which can provide solutions to all manner of computer related problems.
As agents for several national service organizations, Computer Resources Cairns has responsibilities for maintaining a diverse range of equipment for several banks, chain stores, fuel companies, and many other corporate entities in this region. The Company is extending its services onto the Atherton Tablelands and further afield.
